The Working Principle of Inspiring Technology

To Implement the Inspiring Technology, multi-disciplinary research efforts are needed in the areas of human system engineering, modern technology, and product design/development methodology.

1. Human System Engineering

Inspiring Technology intends to apply beneficial energies to human so as to improve their functions. Therefore, an in-depth understanding to the human physical system and functional system is significant. Human system is different in western medicine and oriental medicine. Western medicine considers the human body as separate parts/components (organs) and emphasizes the functional detail and physical phenomena; while the oriental medicine thinks the human body is a unique unit, and the meridian system connects all the parts, transports the energy and keeps the body in balance as a whole. The two concepts are different but they also have certain commonality. In the Inspiring Technology, both of the viewpoints will be investigated and a new human system model will be created.

2. Modern Technology

Various modern technologies need to be adopted to implement the Inspiring Technology. Firstly, electrical devices, especially sensors and transducers, will be used to realize the interaction between human and environment (include the natural environment and the products human are using). They collect signals, transfer them to data processing system, and provide the feedback to the user. Secondly, the energy generators, which will be transparently embedded in the products, are employed to stimulate and inspire the human in a beneficial and non-disruptive way.

3. Product Development Methodology

The final embodiment of the Inspiring Technology will be miscellaneous Inspiring Products. It is these Inspiring products that act as a media to interact with human, inspire and improve their functions. Engineering design has been a popular research topic for decades. Inspiring Products share many common attributes with other engineering products. But they also have unique characteristics. As such, a particularly-suited product development methodology should be created, aiming at making the Inspiring Products robust, stable, effective, and efficient.
